US carriers require business texting from a normal 10-digit number to be registered: who is sending (a brand) and what they send (a campaign). Register your brand, see which campaign types you qualify for with their fees, register a campaign, and put a number you own onto it so its texts reach handsets. Registration fees are non-refundable and are always shown before you pay: the request that charges one repeats the amount back, and a mismatch refuses the submission instead of charging you.
